Nobody had more fun at NBA baller Anthony Davis’ wedding in LA over the weekend than the Lakers star, himself. There’s plenty of video to prove that.

@AntDavis23

Davis wed longtime partner Marlen P. in front of loved ones, famous friends, and teammates past and present.

There was a lot of dancing and singing at the reception, especially by the groom. He was captured singing, literally on the microphone, “Never Make a Promise” by Dru Hill to his bride.

He was also spotted on stage dancing and singing with New Edition as they performed the classic “If It Isn’t Love.” A guest captured the fun while also trying to get video of fellow guest Adele with her drink and her two-step at the event. She is reportedly dating LeBron James’ friend and agent, Rich Paul.

As mentioned, guests included Adele, LeBron James, as well as Davis’ other teammates Russell Westbrook (he and LeBron carpooled together, which we love), Jared Dudley, Quinn Cook, and former teammates, including DeMarcus Cousins.

Davis and his new bride have been together since at least 2017, but they’ve been pretty private about their relationship. They share a daughter named Nala, born in 2017. What he has shared about his family, he offered in 2020 when asked if having them be with him in Orlando during the famed bubble season (where the Lakers won the NBA Championship) helped him after less than stellar games and performances on the court. Many players weren’t as lucky to be able to have family with them due to school schedules for their kids and more.

“For sure. Like you said, when you go back home, if this was a regular scenario, you would go back home and see your family, things like that. So, you kind of just take your mind away from the game. And having my family here, it definitely helps,” he said at the time. “But it’s still hard to sleep. It’s still hard not to think about. Even though it takes the edge off a little bit, you’re super eager to just get back on the floor and get ready for the next game. But I think my family being here definitely helps me tremendously.”

His now wife and daughter also were there for him, in an adorable video, when he accepted his championship ring for that whirlwind 2019-2020 season.

This has certainly been a busy wedding season and off-season for NBA stars, as Davis joins Damian Lillard and Josh Hart in tying the knot recently. All three men are preparing for the season to begin next month, so there was no better time than the late summer to celebrate their love, and to do so in grand fashion. Congratulations to all the newlyweds!

Los Angeles Lakers superstar Anthony Davis excels at many things, but singing is not one of them. Still, the eight-time NBA All-Star wasn’t fazed when he serenaded his new bride at his Sept. 18 wedding, dancing to the classic songs of R&B group New Edition.

Davis, who wed longtime partner Marlen P at a star-studded affair on Saturday, celebrated the milestone at a lively reception.

The guest list, which included Lakers teammate LeBron James and singer Adele, danced the night away while Davis enjoyed the presence of New Edition.

Interestingly enough, the famous basketball star has managed to keep his personal life out of the headlines, with his new wife being known simply as “Marlen P.” The couple has reportedly been together since 2017, sharing a daughter named Nala born that same year.

NBA fans caught a rare glimpse of Davis family when they aided in presenting the 2020 NBA Champion with his ring last December.

“Nala and I are extremely happy and proud to present you tonight with your first ring,” Marlen said with their daughter on her lap. “We are so proud of you.”

The reception party also included NBA players like Russell Westbrook, DeMarcus “Boogie” Cousins, Jared Dudley and Quinn Cook, among others. Davis also invited University of Kentucky basketball coach John Calipari.

While Davis has kept his family out of the headlines, news and photos of his nuptials flooded social media as fans and guests showered the happy couple in congratulations.

With his teammates to support him on his special day, Davis and the Lakers are primed for their NBA season opener versus the Brooklyn Nets on Oct. 3.

NBA superstar Anthony Davis tied the knot with his longtime partner, Marlen P, and celebrities from across the entertainment spectrum came out to celebrate the event.

Among the invited guests were Davis’ Lakers teammates LeBron James and Russell Westbrook, University of Kentucky basketball coach John Calipari and multiple Grammy award winning singer Adele.

The first overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft wore a traditional black tuxedo with a white button-down shirt during the ceremony, and his wife wore a tight, low-cut white wedding gown.

Davis decided to change his ensemble before the reception. He changed into a smart black dinner suit with a similarly colored black button-down and gray slacks.

The 6ft10in behemoth then took to the dance floor with his new wife and sang Never Make A Promise while the pair danced.

Though the couple are now officially married, they’ve been committed to one another for quite some time now.

Anthony Marshon Davis Jr. (born March 11, 1993),[1] also known by his initials AD, is an American professional basketball player for the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He plays the power forward and center positions. Davis is an eight-time NBA All-Star and has been named to four All-NBA First Teams and four NBA All-Defensive Teams. In his first season with the Lakers, he won an NBA championship in 2020.

Davis played one season of college basketball for the University of Kentucky, when he was first team All-American and the Consensus National Player of the Year. He also won the USBWA National Freshman of the Year, NABC Defensive Player of the Year and the Pete Newell Big Man Award. Davis led the NCAA in blocks and set Southeastern Conference and NCAA Division I freshman single-season blocked shots records. He led Kentucky to a national championship and was named the most outstanding player of the NCAA tournament.

Davis left college for the NBA after one season and was drafted as the first overall pick in the 2012 NBA draft by the New Orleans Pelicans, known then as the New Orleans Hornets, and was selected that summer to play in the 2012 Olympics. After his rookie season, he was named to the NBA All-Rookie First Team. The next season, he became an All-Star for the first time and led the NBA in blocked shots per game. He has since become the youngest player to score at least 59 points in an NBA game. In 2017, he was named the recipient of the NBA All-Star Game MVP Award after setting an All-Star Game scoring record of 52 points. Davis was traded to the Lakers in 2019. He has won gold medals with the United States national team on their 2012 Olympic team and 2014 World Cup team, making him the first player in basketball history to win an NCAA title, NBA title, Olympic Gold Medal, and FIBA World Cup.
