Aruba defeats Maine 8 -1 in the World Series. Last year Aruba South Little League of Nicolas lost in the semifinal game.
Shawn Duinkerk pitched the entire game. The 6′ 3″ 200 lbs Duinkerk threw 78 pitches, 51 were strikes, he also had 5 strike outs, 2 walks, and the only run was in the 7th. Duinkerk throws with his right and bats with left; he was 2 – 4 at the plate with a double in the top of the 1st inning which resulted in a 3 run rally and a 3-0 lead he also had 3 RBIs.
Juan Carlos Moncion also had a 2 run double in the 7th that gave Aruba a 6-1 lead.
The catcher for the Latin American/Aruba team is Chadwick Tromp; he had a 2 run home run to left center in the 5 run 7th inning.
