MLB UPDATE: Alex Rodriguez, the New York Yankees 3rd baseman, has hit his 599th home run. The Rod is lighting up the American League with compelling home runs, base hits, clutch base running, and overall team leadership. Look for the Rod to get his 600th quickly.
NFL UPDATE: The Dallas Cowboys have signed their No.1 draft pick, Dez Bryant, to a reported 5 yr deal that could be worth up to, $12,000,000.00, over the life of the contract. But, if this kid comes in and performs, look for Mr. Jerry Jones to tear up that initial contract after the 3rd or 4th year, and sign this kid to a blockbuster extension, that will keep him in the Cowboys organization until he retires.
NBA UPDATE: The Los Angeles Lakers are preparing their team for a run at another championship, by beefing up their offense and defensive presence, with the signings of: Center- Theo Ratliff, and also, Matt Barnes. With the inclusion of these two defensive specialist, the Lakers are positioning themselves for their first ever, 3-peat.
NASCAR UPDATE: NASCAR officials are levying the fines, making all participants accountable for unnecessary aggressive driving. The 1st casualty is, Carl Edwards, and his Roush FenwayRacing Team, but hitting the racer with a $25,000.00 fine. NASCARÂ says this is only the beginning, and will be actively accessing fines to all racing teams, going forward.
TENNIS UPDATE: Andy Roddick, the no.1 seed in the Atlanta Tennis Championship Series,  over comes blistering heat conditions, wins the second round match against, Rajeev Ram, (6-1) (6-7) (6-3), and advances to the 3rd round of the tournament.
GOLF UPDATE: Tiger Woods is having the best recovery ever as it applies to any scandel related endorsement loss of any athelete in the past history of Sports. He took a $9,000,000.00 hit, but look at where he was: $99,000,000.00 estimated earnings for 2008, against, $90,000,000.00 for 2009. The Golf World is hoping for a victory at the PGA Tournament for Tiger, because their looking for a boost from the savior, and it would enhance the Tour’s advertising for the close of the year 2010 on the bottom line.Â
