Cam Newton gives emphatic answer when asked if he’d return to Patriots
New England Patriots quarterback Cam Newton wants to stay where he is. He wants to return to New England in 2021.
He was asked if he’d go back to the Patriots during an appearance on the “I AM ATHLETE” podcast.
“Yes,” Newton said. “Hell yes.”
Newton, whose one-year contract with the Patriots is set to expire in March, had nothing but good things to say about coach Bill Belichick.
“I think Bill Belichick is the most misunderstood person in all of sports,” Newton said. “He’s dope as shit. He is a cool dude.”
Newton was asked if there’s a chance he’ll be back with the Patriots.
“There’s always a chance for anything,” he said.
The Cam Newton returning to the Patriots train has gained steam in recent weeks, and it doesn’t appear to be stopping anytime soon.

Volin’s report comes days after Newton stated that he would be open to returning to the Patriots in a podcast interview.

But learning this system, you just need more time, you need more real reps to kind of go through because there’s only but so much you can kind of make up.
Belichick heard Newton’s comments and reiterated that sentiment while speaking with reporters on Friday.
“I agree with what Cam said, I wish we had more time together,” Belichick said. “I wish as a team we had more time with our team and with a lot of guys, especially new players. Yeah, I agree with that.”

Cameron “Cam” Jerrell Newton (born May 11, 1989) is an American football quarterback for the New England Patriots of the National Football League (NFL). He previously played nine seasons with the Carolina Panthers, who selected him first overall in the 2011 NFL Draft.
