It appears that Texas Tech has decided to separate themselves from the most successful tenured coach to grace the football field of the Raiders. Based on reports from several news and sports outlets, it seems that the school has taken a stance against the way Leach has treated Craig James son, who was a player on the squad. Based on who you spoke with, it was consistent that James wasn’t happy with being put in a place away from his teammates after he had some type of concussion. In football, things happen for a reason. These new wave guys who want to be treated special because of who they are, should just play football. Head coaches are their to put the best players on the field, win games, make sure that the athletes are also students, and attend class. James, the football player, has been accused of having a poor work ethic by most teammates, and it appears that he hasn’t garnered a lot of support from them at this time. It was about self, not the team. Texas Tech has been raised to a level in football that hasn’t been attained prior to Leach’s arrival. Leach may not be perfect, but he is a winner. The University should have handled this better than what has transpired at this point. The team as a whole comes first, it has never been said that the player didn’t receive the correct attention medically that was required. As long as this occurs, their shouldn’t be a problem with the way the coach disciplines his players, as long as they’re not attacked by the coach or his staff. It is apparent that Leach has unusual ways of getting the attention of his players, but it works, the team has won, and if James didn’t like it, he could have always left, or requested a transfer. Unfortunately for Texas Tech, a player put in a closed area, has doomed their future for success. It’s somewhat odd, but it’s their decision.

Note: James, and the Coach should have been given the opportunity to resolve this, then  if the meeting wasn’t successful, the Coach should have been disciplined, only if he had done something cruel and unusual to the player. If in fact that is the case, he should have been released, but if all opportunities weren’t exhausted, the firing was premature.

MyBoySay Nation, You make the call, should the coach have been terminated?
