USAIN BOLT WAS DISQUALIFIED IN THE 100 METER FINAL HEAT DUE TO A 2009 IAAF FALSE START RULE. THE 2009 UNANIMOUS RULING (99-55) STATES THAT ANY ATHLETE RESPONSIBLE FOR A FALSE START WILL BE DISQUALIFIED.

BOLT’S DISQUALIFICATION WAS A DISAPPOINTMENT BECAUSE BOLT WAS IN 2008 – 2009  FORM IN THE PRELIMINARY HEATS. HE RAN THE BEST QUALIFYING HEAT WITH A 10.1 IN THE 100M CRUISING THE LAST 60 METERS.

FELLOW JAMAICAN YOHAN BLAKE 21, WON THE 100 METERS IN 9:92.  BLAKE WAS THE YOUNGEST GOLD MEDALIST IN 100M HISTORY.  AMERICAN WALTER DIX TOOK THE SILVER AND ST.KITTS AND NEVIS 2003 CHAMPION KIM COLLINS 35, TOOK THE BRONZE.

BOLT WILL DEFEND HIS 200M TITLE ON SEPT 2.
