6 Time and Reigning Wimbledon Champion Roger Federer is out.  Federer lost to Tomas Berdych  6-4, 3-6, 6-1, 6-4  in today’s Quarter Final match.  This is the 1st time since 2002 that Federer will not be in the finals.  It was  Berdych offense, big serve, and forehand that beat Federer.  Berdych lead in winners and points, 51 winners to 44 and 127 to 118. 

Today’s loss will drop Federer to Number 3 when the ATP Ranking is announced next week .  The last time Federer was Number 3 was Nov. 10, 2003.

The Williams Sisters lost for the 1st time since 2003 at Wimbledon. They were defeated by Russians Vera Zvonareva and Elena Vesnina 3-6, 6-3, 6-4.
