The Boston Celtics have taken the next step in their quest to return to the NBA finals by shutting down the Miami Heat, and with that said, look for Doc Rivers to address all opportunities in their present line-up to combat the Cavaliers big man, Shag, who will actually be the difference maker in the series. If Rivers game plan Kendrick Perkins on the offensive end, this will put a lot of pressure on the Cavaliers, and it’s shown in the past that it can be effective. Perkins can score, if the Celtics include him in the actual shooting rotation of their offense. Hitting the 3’s, getting the offense rebounds, and playing superb defense will get the Celtics a win, and a split in the first two games of the series. If they can accomplish that feat, it will turn this whole thing around for the Celtics, and position the franchise to take the series at 4 games to 2. Now, that being said, The Cavaliers won’t just sit back and not adjust, they will clog the middle with Shaq, and create some problems for Celtic success in the paint, and yes, LeBron will be shooting the lights out at the 3 point line and beyond. But, if the defense of the Celtics confine the rest of the Cavaliers offense, LeBron can have his 40 points, and the Celtics will just settle for the win. Look for that dynamic to come into play, and for the Celtics to pull the upset of the playoff season during the 2010 NBA playoffs.
