The White Sox Mark Buehrle pitched a perfect game today, only the 18th time in MLB history. In the 9th Gabe Kapler did everything he could to put an end to it. Kapler was leadoff batter in the 9th; the count was 2 all. Kapler hit one in left center field, it appeared to be out of the park, but Center Fielder DeWayne Wise ran and leaped above the fence prevent the home run. It was a fantastic catch.

The White Sox defeated the Tampa Bay Rays 5-0.

President Obama, a Sox fan called to congratulate Buehrle.
