The 2017 World Series will be the 113th edition of Major League Baseball‘s championship series, a best-of-seven playoff between the National League champion Los Angeles Dodgers and the American Leaguechampion Houston Astros.

For the first time, Major League Baseball sold presenting sponsorships to all of its postseason series; the internet television service YouTube TV will be the first-ever presenting sponsor of the World Series. The series will be officially known as the World Series presented by YouTube TV. This sponsorship includes logo branding in-stadium and on official digital properties, as well as commercial inventory during Fox’s telecasts of the games.

This is the first World Series in which home-field advantage was decided by regular season record. From 1903 to 2002, home-field advantage alternated between the American and National Leagues (with the exception of 1904 and 1994, which did not have a World Series); and from 2003 to 2016, it was determined by results from the corresponding All-Star Game, in which it was awarded to the team from the winning league. With 104 regular season wins, the Dodgers earned home-field advantage over the Astros, who had 101 regular season wins.

The Astros (in their fifth season in the American League) join the Dodgers, Cincinnati Reds, and St. Louis Cardinals as the fourth team to play in the World Series having represented two different leagues, and the first in the modern era. (The Dodgers, Reds, and Cardinals appeared in the 1880s version of the World Series as members of the American Association.) The team’s only other appearance was in 2005 as a member of the National League.

Major League Baseball has released the schedule and broadcast times for the 113th World Series. This will be the 20th year that FOX will have exclusive television coverage.

The Series begins on Tuesday, October 24th.

This will be the first time since 1970 that the World Series will see two teams that won over 100 games each square off. The Dodgers amassed a 104-win regular season while the Astros won 101. It is the first time since 1988 that the Dodgers have been in the Fall Classic, while the Astros return for the first time since 2005 when they were then in the National League.

The Houston Astros are an American professional baseball team based in Houston, Texas. The Astros compete in Major League Baseball (MLB) as a member club of the American League (AL) West division, having moved to the division in 2013 after spending their first 51 seasons in the National League (NL). The Astros have played their home games at Minute Maid Park since 2000.The Astros were established as the Houston Colt .45s and entered the National League in 1962 with the expansion New York Mets. The current name—reflecting Houston’s role as the control center of the U.S. space program—was adopted three years later, when they moved into the Astrodome, the world’s first domed sports stadium.

The Astros played in the NL from 1962 to 2012. They played in the West division from 1969 to 1993, and the Central division from 1994 to 2012.
