This is pretty special for Mr. Dawson. He will be the only inductee this year. This is simply wonderful, because this guy didn’t make mega-millions while playing. He once signed a blank contract, then it was filled in to be the third from the bottom of the highest paid player on the team. This election corrects that, and shows that this guy played the game for the love of the game, to truly entertain the fans, and has always demonstrated that he appreciated the opportunity of just being in the big leagues. Currently working in the front office of the Florida Marlins, this will be a huge boost to the Marlins franchise, and hopefully will permanently place him with that organization, which will send a new message from the sports world.
