The Basketball Season is Soaring at great heights for the Jaguars and Panthers of Beaumont Texas. These two teams have a rich history of winning in the Powerful Texas High School Basketball Golden Triangle area. Both Teams, Ozen and also, Central have won State Titles during their sports existance in the sport of basketball.
During an intense moment of the contest, the Bruin’s Jacory Guillory’s had a terrible fall, as he hit the court, with his arms extented for the ball as a West Brook boys basketball player was able to manuever and continue his quest to dribble and maintain control of the ball. Also, one of Central Jaguar’s Highly Touted players, Trey Senigaur, started the game with a magnificent 3 pointer, then he appeared to be hurt during the early stages in the contest, but it appears that the Jaguars can breathe a sigh of relief, as friends of his father, Geary Dwight Senigaur Jr., were interviewed and stated that his son is a pretty tough cookie, and is a chip off the old block, as his father, Geary Jr., was Highly recruited athlete, and a Star High School Basketball Player for the Central Jaguars in his younger days, and also went on to play College Basketball for Lee College in Baytown Texas, and Prairie View A&M University Basketball Team, just outside of Houston Texas. It must be in the Genes, because Trey’s Grandfather, Geary Sr., was a standout, highly recruited star baseball player for the Baseball Championship winning Hebert High School Panthers in the 1960’s era, prior to the school’s name being changed, and named after the former great High School Coach (“Clifton Ozen”), to present name of, Clifton Ozen High School.
The West Brook Bruins maintained possession as they past the Central Jaguars guard, but then West Brook’s sky walking guard, Jaquan Carter approached a couple of Central defenders as he moved closer to the basket, and the ball was lost out of bounds.
It was a very difficult contest for the West Brook Bruins after the first quarter Friday Night at the Fred Williams Classic, located inside Ozen’s gymnasium.
With a towering front line consisting of, 6-foot-7 E’Torrion Wilridge, 6-5 Nijal Pearson and 6-4 Tyrin Atwood, the West Brook Bruins were kept off balance on a consistant basis as the Triplet Towers of Power constantly defended the court with great success for the Central Jaguars team, as they were successful in their victory over the West Brook Bruins by a margin of 19 points, winning at a score of, 68-49.
Central’s defense forced a West Brook turnover as they attempted to in-bounds a pass in the third quarter, when a ball bounced off a West Brook player and went out of bounds which created a turnover for the Bruins, with the fans in the stands celebrating heavily for what seemed to be a lifetime for the Bruins players.
Ozen vs. PAÂ Memorial
In a devastating loss for the P.A Memorial basketball team, who lost by 34 points on Friday, the Ozen boys basketball coach Marquis Saveat appeared to be focused the goals he wants his team to acheive, which includes better defense, better execution on the defense and offensive side of the ball from all of his players on a consistant basis.
With this victory, as Ozen beat Port Arthur Memorial 60-26 at the Fred Williams Classic, it puts the Ozen Panthers at a 3-0 mark for the season.
“We’ve gotten off to a fairly decent start,” Saveat said. “We have aspirations of getting a lot better. I feel like the potential is there… We’re looking to push the envelope.”
The Port Arthur Memorial Basketball Team was completely dominated, as it appeared that the contest would be a blow out with Ozen holding a 23-3 lead after the first quarter. Unfortunately for the Port Arthur Memorial Team, they fell quickly without having the ability to score early, while their opponent, The Ozen Panthers, quickly and clearly showed the crowd on Friday night, that they were the team to beat
Ozen’s Senior guard Jordan Hunter had 17 points at halftime and he finished the night with 24, while his backcourt teammate, junior guard John Comeaux, added 16 points for the Panther’s victory.
