This marks the second consecutive year that Mbappe has been the cover athlete, as he graced the front of FIFA 21 as well.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The 22-year-old Mbappe is a star forward at PSG who helped lead them to Ligue 1 titles in three straight seasons from 2017-20. He also won a Ligue 1 title with AS Monaco in 2016-17 before joining PSG.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Mbappe has led Ligue 1 in goal scoring each of the past three seasons as well, scoring 33 times in 29 matches in 2018-19, 18 times in 20 matches in 2019-20 and 27 times in 31 matches this past season.<\/strong><\/p>\n

On Friday the official online accounts of the creators of FIFA football, EA Sports, released a preview in which they told fans they were ‘delighted’ to have Mbappe on board.<\/strong><\/p>\n

EA Sports also teased fans by adding: ‘Stay tuned for the game-changing reveal on July 11th.’<\/strong><\/p>\n

Last year, following the first talks which outlined that Mbappe would now be the main face of the franchise, the Frenchman spoke of his pride at being given the top honour.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Previously Real Madrid’s Eden Hazard – who took the cover spot for FIFA 2020 – had been the face of the game after a long period in which living football legend Cristiano Ronaldo fronted the series.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Mbappe will also feature on the cover of the ‘ultimate edition’ of the game, which provides a host of hidden extras for dedicated fans. The previous cover star on this iteration was French football legend Zinedine Zidane.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Kylian Mbapp\u00e9 Lottin (born 20 December 1998) is a French professional footballer<\/a> who plays as a forward<\/a> for Ligue 1<\/a> club Paris Saint-Germain<\/a> and the France national team<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Mbapp\u00e9 began his senior career with Ligue 1 club Monaco<\/a>, making his professional debut in 2015, aged 16.
