Roberts batted and threw left-handed.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The son of a Japanese mother and African American<\/a> father, Roberts became the first manager of Asian heritage to lead a team to the World Series<\/a> in 2017<\/a>, when the Dodgers captured the National League pennant<\/a>. He also led the Dodgers to the World Series in 2018<\/a> and 2020<\/a>, winning in the latter year.
