The new locker rooms will be named after Paul, a Winston-Salem native who played college basketball at Wake Forest before becoming an NBA All-Star player with the New Orleans Hornets, L.A. Clippers and Houston Rockets.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cGrateful. This facility will give us an opportunity to have many areas for the guys to have that fellowship and unwind.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cIn college, other than wherever you lay your head at night, your home is in the gym, in the locker room \u2014 this facility will provide other areas for our players to fellowship and relax with each other to help develop that close basketball fraternity.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Paul was in town for for <a href=\"https:\/\/247sports.com\/Player\/Chris-Paul-67999\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Chris Paul<\/a> Family Foundation Charity Golf Classic and has been involved in Winston-Salem philanthropically in recent years. Forming lifelong friendships with your teammates is one of the most rewarding aspects of sports.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>As the Deacs get in the mix to try to attract some of the top talent to Winston-Salem in the coming years, the boost in facilities could be key.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cIt\u2019s kind of what the game has gone to, in all sports. Also the new facilities give a bit of a pop when on recruiting visits, and it helps Wake stand out a little bit.<\/strong><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><strong>\u201cIs it something that is going to put Wake among the elite recruiting schools in the country? The Winston-Salem native and former Wake Forest player has become a household name in North Carolina because of his success and philanthropy. Paul\u2019s name being closely attached to Wake Forest is a great situation for the basketball program moving forward.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cI think it is a big deal. It might not be a game-changing enormous deal, but I do think it is a big deal,\u201d Snow said. \u201cAny time you have an NBA superstar closely associated with you and your program as a coach, that is going to help a lot. Now the question is can they reel any of them in,\u201d Snow said. \u201cA kid like <a href=\"https:\/\/247sports.com\/Player\/Wendell-Moore-86679\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Wendell Moore<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/247sports.com\/Player\/Trayce-Jackson-Davis-46041487\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Trayce Jackson-Davis<\/a> would be enormous, though obviously the competition is going to be very tough. They just made the first cut with <a href=\"https:\/\/247sports.com\/Player\/Dahmir-Bishop-46047686\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dahmir Bishop<\/a> and have a good shot of getting a visit.
