After three productive seasons in Terre Haute, Indiana, red-shirt junior\u00a0Laquarious Paige, is returning to his home state of Texas for his final two years of eligibility in the NCAA. Laquarious Paige verbally committed to\u00a0Tic Price and the Lamar Cardinals, and Verbal Commits put out the news via Twitter on Thursday morning.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Laquarious Paige, a native of West Orange, Texas, put together a solid season in 2016-17. He averaged just over 22 minutes of court time per game, predominately off the bench, and averaged 6.4 points per contest.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

His shooting ability was on display over the course of the season. Laquarious Paige finished the year shooting 46.7% from the floor, 35.7% from three point range, and 85.2% from the free throw line. Add in his 2.4 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game, and Paige will add some solid depth to the back court rotation for the Cardinals in 2018-19.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In just the fourth game of the season, a 73-71 loss to the\u00a0Iowa State Cyclones, Paige went for a career-high 20 points, while going 8-of-12 from the floor and 3-of-4 from three point range. It was one of four double-digit scoring games for the 6\u20193\u201d guard.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Then, on February 11th against the\u00a0Drake Bulldogs, Paige shot 75% (6-of-8) from the floor for 14 points, helping lead the Sycamores to a 24-point victory, 84-60.<\/strong><\/p>\n
