In 1993, he took Landry\u2019s, Inc. public and the company grew quickly, adding concept after concept.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><sup id=\"cite_ref-fundinguniverse_17-0\" class=\"reference\"><\/sup>In 2010, Fertitta, who already owned the majority of Landry&#8217;s, Inc. stock, purchased all outstanding shares, becoming sole owner again. In 1993, the company was valued at approximately $30\u00a0million.<sup id=\"cite_ref-bizjournals_18-0\" class=\"reference\"><\/sup><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>By 2011, the company&#8217;s value had skyrocketed to a value of more than $1.7\u00a0billion.\u00a0<sup id=\"cite_ref-forbes4_19-0\" class=\"reference\"><\/sup> As of 2013, the company, under the leadership of Fertitta, owns and operates more than 500 restaurant\/entertainment\/gaming\/hospitality locations. Tilman debuted on Forbes 400 list in 2012.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Fertitta first built the Key Largo Hotel in <a title=\"Galveston, Texas\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Galveston,_Texas\">Galveston, Texas<\/a> to buy the rights to Landry&#8217;s. After acquiring restaurants under the company, Fertitta started focusing more on the hospitality division of Landry&#8217;s and acquired the San Luis Resort, Spa, &amp; Conference Center in <a title=\"Galveston, Texas\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Galveston,_Texas\">Galveston, Texas<\/a>. He also partnered with the City of Galveston to build the conference center in 2004 inside the resort. Fertitta since acquired two additional hotels on the island, including the Holiday Inn On the Beach in 2003, and the Hilton Galveston Island Resort in 2004, which stands adjacent to his San Luis Resort. In 2015, Fertitta added the Villas at San Luis section of the hotel, which consists of ultra-luxury villas with direct access to both the beach and the hotel&#8217;s pool.<sup id=\"cite_ref-26\" class=\"reference\"><\/sup><sup id=\"cite_ref-27\" class=\"reference\"><\/sup><\/strong><\/p>\n<h3><strong><span style=\"line-height: inherit; font-size: 16px;\">The Golden Nugget Atlantic City was previously called the Trump Marina. Since then, Landry&#8217;s has opened casinos in <a title=\"Golden Nugget Atlantic City\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Golden_Nugget_Atlantic_City\">Atlantic City<\/a>, <a title=\"New Jersey\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/New_Jersey\">New Jersey<\/a>; <a title=\"Biloxi, Mississippi\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Biloxi,_Mississippi\">Biloxi, Mississippi<\/a>; and <a title=\"Golden Nugget Lake Charles\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Golden_Nugget_Lake_Charles\">Lake Charles<\/a>, <a title=\"Louisiana\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Louisiana\">Louisiana<\/a>.<\/strong><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><strong>In addition to restaurants, hotels, and casinos, Landry&#8217;s also owns amusement parks, aquariums, and the <a title=\"Kemah Boardwalk\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Kemah_Boardwalk\">Kemah Boardwalk<\/a>. Landry&#8217;s, Inc. first acquired the Kemah Boardwalk in 1999. After acquiring the boardwalk, Fertitta added a few Landry&#8217;s restaurants, and a few rides. In 2007, he added the <a title=\"Boardwalk Bullet\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Boardwalk_Bullet\">Boardwalk Bullet<\/a> which is a high speed wooden roller coaster. He also added the Boardwalk Fanta Sea, which is a luxury yacht cruise service where guests ride along the <a title=\"Galveston Bay\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Galveston_Bay\">Galveston Bay<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The <a title=\"Marina\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Marina\">marina<\/a> on the boardwalk is the largest concentration of boats and yachts in <a title=\"Greater Houston\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Greater_Houston\">Greater Houston<\/a>, as well as one of the largest in the nation. The boardwalk also includes an aquarium, which is under the same Landry&#8217;s line of aquarium restaurants with locations in Houston, <a title=\"Denver\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Denver\">Denver<\/a>, and <a class=\"mw-redirect\" title=\"Nashville\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Nashville\">Nashville<\/a>. <i><a title=\"Travel + Leisure\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Travel_%2B_Leisure\">Travel + Leisure<\/a><\/i> magazine named the Kemah boardwalk a top 10 <a title=\"United States\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/United_States\">American<\/a> boardwalk.<sup id=\"cite_ref-30\" class=\"reference\"><\/sup><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>In 2000, Landry&#8217;s acquired the land on the 400 block of Bagby in <a title=\"Downtown Houston\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Downtown_Houston\">Downtown Houston<\/a>. The deal came from a proposal of the City of Houston to redevelop the fire station. After redeveloping the building, the aquarium added the shark tank and restaurant before opening in 2003.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Fertitta redeveloped the <a class=\"mw-redirect\" title=\"Pleasure pier\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Pleasure_pier\">pleasure pier<\/a> in <a title=\"Galveston, Texas\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Galveston,_Texas\">Galveston, Texas<\/a>, after the pier had closed after damages by <a title=\"Hurricane Ike\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Hurricane_Ike\">Hurricane Ike<\/a>. The pier reopened in 2012 as the <a title=\"Galveston Island Historic Pleasure Pier\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Galveston_Island_Historic_Pleasure_Pier\">Galveston Island Historic Pleasure Pier<\/a>. He then lasted as a partner for the Texans owner <a title=\"Bob McNair\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Bob_McNair\">Bob McNair<\/a> until 2008. Fertitta then had to sell his interest in the franchise, as he owns <a title=\"Landry's, Inc.\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Landry%27s,_Inc.\">Golden Nugget casinos<\/a> as part of Landry&#8217;s subsidiary. NFL rules state any staff member of a team can&#8217;t be associated with gambling.
